Following the thread of the principal events of the “Risorgimento” in Calabria,
and with constant reference to the realities of the Kingdom of Naples, this
study gathers the elements of ideology, cultural conditioning, economic and
social disparities, and religious identities in the Diocese of Nicastro in
the 1800s in treating the relationships between church, state and the liberal
movement.
